Technology Strategies to Address Grade-Level Outcomes: National Standards 1 and 2
Baert, Helena
Journal of Physical Education, Recreation & Dance, v86 n7 p40-45 2015
The need to prepare students to thrive in the digital world and the benefit of using instructional technology have both been widely recognized in education. As new technology becomes available, its use by both students and teachers must be carefully evaluated. Technology can help enhance learning and facilitate the teaching process, if and when it is properly integrated. As new and emerging technologies surface, it becomes difficult for teachers to stay current on the types of tools that can support teaching and learning. Unfortunately, uninformed teachers may implement technology that could actually inhibit learning. This article provides developmentally appropriate progressions in which students use technology to gain movement competency as guided by the K-12 National Standards and grade-level outcomes.
