Moreno, Steve
These 3 booklets provide ideas, guidelines, and activities for establishing effective parenting and are part of a series of 22 booklets specifically designed to help parents understand their children and help them to learn. The first booklet (booklet #20) discusses preparation for parenthood, infant and toddler developmental stages, the importance of loving and teaching the baby, preparation of the child for preschool or kindergarten, and parent-child communication. Booklet #21 touches on various aspects of child rearing which commonly cause confusion, outlines various parenting styles, and deals with related issues such as step-parenting, children's behavior problems, teaching children about responsibility, and parents' control of children's television viewing. Finally, the third booklet (booklet #22) provides helpful hints regarding sibling rivalry, manners and social skills, nutrition, the importance of play and fantasy, discipline, children's fears, child identity, and the development of independence in children. The booklets are written with the same text in both English and Spanish, are easy to read, and include illustrations. (MP)
