Arkansas Technology Information System.
VanBiervliet, Alan; Parette, Howard P., Jr.
The Arkansas Technology Information System (ARTIS) was developed to fill a significant void in existing systems of technical support to Arkansans with disabilities by creating and maintaining a consumer-responsive statewide system of data storage and retrieval regarding assistive technology and services. ARTIS goals also include establishment of a marketing and public awareness campaign promoting benefits and use of technology for disabled persons, development of coordinated training activities for consumers, their families, professionals, employers, and the public, creation of a statewide network for exchange of used assistive equipment, development of interagency linkages, establishment of a network of community-based technology specialists, and development of a user-to-user consumer network.
