Boston: Cradle of American Independence
Community College Journal, v75 n1 p8-9 Aug-Sep 2004
The 2005 American Association of Community Colleges Annual Convention will be held April 6-9 in Boston. While thoroughly modern, the iconic city's identity is firmly rooted in the past. As the cradle of American independence, Boston's long history is an integral part of the American fabric. Adams, Revere, Hancock are more than historical figures; they are players in a national mythology. Americans look to the patriots for a sense of who they are, and they look to Boston as the birthplace of the nation. Seven facts about Boston are presented.
