The rate training manual is one of a series of training handbooks prepared for enlisted personnel of the Navy and Naval Reserve who are studying for advancement in the Aviation Structural Mechanic E (AME) rating. The manual is based on the professional qualifications for the rates AME1 and AMEC. Chapters are organized according to specific job responsibilities: (1) work center supervision and administration, (2) aviation supply, (3) corrosion control, (4) oxygen system support equipment, (5) oxygen system maintenance, (6) pressurization and air-conditioning systems, (7) emergency egress systems, and (8) miscellaneous utility systems. Illustrated throughout, step-by-step instructions and diagrams are provided for each task and item of equipment involved. (Author/MW)
