Industrial Arts Curriculum Guide for Automated Machining in Metals Technology.
This curriculum guide is designed to be used for creating programs in automated machining education in Connecticut. The first sections of the guide are introductory, explaining the importance of computer-numerically controlled machines, describing the industrial arts scope and sequence for kindergarten through adult levels, describing the provisions of Public Law 94-142 (Education for All Handicapped Act), and the general objectives and prerequisite skills needed for automated machine operators. The guide then provides course outlines for numerical control machining, computerized numerical control (CNC) machining, the CNC lathe, and CNC milling. The guide also introduces the concept of computer-assisted manufacturing and provides safety guidelines for metalworking. A glossary and list of suggested text and reference books complete the guide.
