Achieving Success in Small Business. A Self-Instruction Program for Small Business Owner-Managers. Determining Capital Needs.

This self-instructional module on determining capital needs is the third in a set of twelve modules designed for small business owner-managers. Competencies for this module are (1) identify factors which must be considered when you begin the search for additional funds and (2) identify the sources of additional funds. Provided are information sections on estimating money need, where funds can be borrowed, sources of funds, and improving your chances of acquiring additional funds. Also included are two learning activities consisting of worksheets to be filled out to determine the amount of capital needed to operate a business, two pamphlets from the Small Business Administration ("Sound Cash Management and Borrowing" and "The ABC's of Borrowing," which discuss cash budget forecasting and cash flow for repaying a loan), and a script from a cassette tape designed for use with this module.
