Intended for student use, this unit discusses and illustrates the tools used in brick and masonry and carpentry. Contents of the brick and masonry section include informative materials on bricklaying tools (brick trowels, joint tools, levels, squares, line and accessories, rules, hammers and chisels, tool kits) and cement masonry tools (tampers, screeds, jitterbugs, darby, bull floats, edgers and groovers, trowels, floats). A true-false test on cement masonry tools and a matching test on bricklaying tools are provided, but no answer keys are available. The carpentry section discusses and illustrates tools commonly used in carpentry work. Contents include informative materials and tests (simple recall, true-false, multiple choice) on these topics: hammers, hatchets, and wrecking bars; hand saws; planes and chisels; measuring and layout tools; tools for boring; and supplementary tools.
