Cameroon: A Country Guide Series Report from the AACRAO-AID Project.
Saidi, Jasmin
This report on the educational system of Cameroon contains information for university admissions officers and registrars in the United States on the credentials and other documentation that would be minimally required for student entry from Cameroon to specified levels of study in the United States. In Cameroon French and English languages share official national status. Consequently, discussion of educational levels in this report covers Anglophone and Francophone education for both. Areas covered include the history of Cameroon; Cameroon's geography and population; preschool, primary, and secondary education; technical and vocational education; teacher training education for nursery teachers, primary teachers, and secondary teachers; grading scales; university education; engineering education; and postsecondary grading scales. The report also lists the eight universities in Cameroon with a one-sentence description of their mission, and address and telephone number. Appendixes contain 11 sample documents including transcripts and examination certificates, a map of Cameroon, and an educational ladder and credentials required. (JB)
