An information source for district personnel and others, this report uses tables and some charts and text to present data on student, staff, and business aspects of Phoenix (Arizona) Union High School District. Many of the data are broken down by each of the district's 11 schools and 8 separate programs. Part 1 begins with historical and background information, lists district goals, and points out future trends in the district. Part 2 covers student and program data, providing information on numbers and percentages of students, ages, grades, attendance, ethnic groups, graduates, dropouts, geographical attendance area, subjects, summer school, psychological services, special education, and other programs. Personnel matters are addressed in part 3, which looks at certified and classified staff, teacher absences, and numbers of teachers by subject. Part 4 presents the results of student tests, including the California Achievement Test, the district's Free Enterprise Test, the American College Test, and minimum proficiency tests in reading, writing, and mathematics. Part 5, on business services, examines budget information, district costs, nonbudgetary funds, assessed valuations, tax rates, and project funds from nonlocal sources.
