Walter F. Ulmer, Jr., is a retired three-star general in the United States Army and former president and chief executive officer of the Center for Creative Leadership. This book is a compilation of columns that he wrote during 1990-94 for the Center's periodical "Issues and Observations." The articles emphasize learning as the essential connection between theory and practice. The book begins with an adaptation of an essay written for the Kellogg Leadership Studies Program, called "Learning and Relearning."
