In this article, a process evaluation of a school-based, violence intervention program is presented. The program was modeled after bullying prevention programs described by Daniel Olweus (1993) whose components were implemented to achieve student safety goals. The process evaluation instrument used in this study was developed by a rural Midwestern county health department and utilized to evaluate a bullying prevention program. The tool elicited teacher response regarding three topics: perception of student behavior, reported implementation of curricular lessons, and resulting changes to the school atmosphere following program implementation. Year two respondents included thirty-two teachers who taught lessons and participated in other aspects of their school-wide bullying program with 631 students in four schools. Year three included 20 teachers and 752 students. By year three, over 65% percent of responding teachers and social workers reported positive change in individual student behavior.
