Jeu de Banque et Banque de Jeux: Proficiency-Oriented Strategies for Teaching the French Banking System.

Instructions and ideas for classroom use of "Jeu de Banque" (The Bank Game), an instructional game about the French banking system developed by the French Association of Banks, are presented. The structure and content of the game are discussed in terms of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages/Educational Testing Service (ACTFL/ETS) Language Proficiency Guidelines, the game is described section by section, and activities and techniques that use the game and are appropriate for intermediate and advanced level students are suggested. Appended materials include: the teacher's manual for the game (in French); the ACTFL/ETS guidelines' summaries of function, content, and accuracy for each proficiency level; and outlines of function, content, accuracy, and techniques appropriate to intermediate-to-advanced level language proficiency.
