Business Financial Applications. Curriculum Guide. Simulations. Test Bank.
Massey, Ray Nell; Patton, Jan
This business financial applications document combines the curriculum guide, simulations, and the test bank for the 1-semester course. The guide provides students with an overview of the banking industry used for entry-level positions or advancement into an occupationally specific course. It begins with a course description, suggested scope and sequence, essential elements for business financial applications, 19 resources, and 10 references. Other sections and units are as follows: introductory lesson; banking operations (checking accounts, teller operations, and bookkeeping systems); credit administration (credit investigation and credit analysis); loans (types and purposes of loans and interest calculations); legal aspects of banking and other financial institutions (customer and consumer services, savings and loan operations, and credit union operations); and closure for business financial applications. Two appendices contain reference addresses and suggested handicap modifications. Teacher's guide units within each section may contain the following information: suggested unit lesson plan (element, allocated time, unit objective, student competencies, focus, domain, and basic skills); content outline; and teaching suggestions (general teacher preparation, teacher presentation, reteach activities, and specific teaching suggestions.) The simulations section provides instructional materials for the course. Two simulations are provided for each section of the guide. A 1-hour simulation provides information for a 1-semester course and a 3-hour simulation provides information for a full-year course. Each simulation is based on working at a specific company. The simulations may serve as a test or as additional activities to tie in the section's concepts. Brief instructions and a grading sheet are provided for the teacher at the front of each simulation. Most answers are provided. In addition to introductory pages, this guide contains four sections, each containing information on several units: (1) banking operations systems simulations; (2) credit administration simulations; (3) loan simulations; and (4) legal aspects of banking and other financial institution simulations. The test bank provides instructors with test items coordinated with the Curriculum Guide. In addition to introductory pages, these test banks contain four sections. Each section has units corresponding to those detailed in the simulations section. Each unit within a section contains the test questions and answers in a number of formats: true and false, multiple choice, matching, fill in the blank, and essay. At the end of each section a competency matrix contains unit questions and question types. (The related data disks contain only the true and false questions and the multiple-choice questions from each section.) (NLA)
