Interviews with 515 children brought to a home for neglected, destitute, and delinquent children in Bombay (India) resulted in self-reports of familial physical violence from approximately 50% of the sample, with two-thirds of those reporting abusive violence. Over 60% of the children who had run away from home cited violence by parents as the primary reason. (Author/JDD)
