One in a series of books intended to help children improve their critical analytical skills, the document examines the concept of time in light of theories of philosophers Ludwig Wittgenstein and John Dewey. The document is presented in three chapters. Chapter one offers a critical analysis of time from the perspective that time is an unknown and strange entity that should be observed from every possible viewpoint. Questions about time are posed and answered. For example, "Can you see time?""Can time be in a hurry?""Is time a relation of changes?" and "Is there a present time?" Answers to these and other questions generally involve review of frequently-made statements about time. Chapter two discusses references to time in Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland." Entitled "Having a Good Time with Time in 'Alice in Wonderland'", the chapter reviews how and why Alice, The Hatter, March Hare, the Queen of Hearts and the book's other main characters read watches, measure long periods of time, waste time, measure the relationship between time and objects, and determine what period of time a while might be. Chapter three offers jokes about time in categories including context deviation humor, contradiction humor, deviation from the familiar, ignorance humor, taking things literally humor, metaphor humor, and substitution humor.
