An Exposition of Fischer's Model of Overlapping Contracts.
Fields, T. Windsor; Hart, William R.
Journal of Economic Education, v23 n1 p35-47 Win 1992
Suggests how the classic model of overlapping contracts can be incorporated into the contract wage model of aggregate supply. Illustrates dynamics of macroeconomic adjustment following a shock to aggregate demand. Concludes that overlapping contracts do not prolong the adjustment process; rather, the longest remaining contract determines the time required to return the economy to equilibrium. (DK)
