This document describes, analyzes, and interprets international developments reflected in public educational expenditures. The report includes (1) a survey of educational expenditures of 35 UNESCO member countries between 1950 and 1965 in relation to other aggregate data, (2) a description and interpretation of shifts in the composition of total educational expenditures, and (3) the development and analysis of a regression model. A major study finding was that between 1950 and 1965 public expenditures on education generally increased both in absolute terms and in relation to national aggregates.
