Health and communications experts from Taiwan, South Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and South Vietnam met in Manila for two weeks of workshop sessions to discuss communication strategies and to develop educational materials for the promotion of family health. The overall aim of the workshop was to encourage the production of educational materials that would (1) help the public understand the interrelationship between nutrition, maternal and child health and family planning and (2) help field workers reach the public. This final report of the workshop activities includes background information, a description of the workshop process, descriptions of the activities of working groups, and an evaluation of the workshop. Group work brought workshop participants into direct contact with urban migrants and women in a rural barrio. Reports of field visits, materials produced, the final program, lists of working papers, presentations and reports from each country, as well as hand-outs and a list of workshop participants are appended.
