Predisposition for Nightmares: A Study of Hypnotic Ability, Vividness of Imagery, and Absorption.
Belicki, Kathryn; Belicki, Denis
Journal of Clinical Psychology, v42 n5 p714-18 Sep 1986
Examined relationships of nightmare frequency to hypnotic ability, vividness of visual imagery, and the tendency to become absorbed in fantasy-like experiences. Use of Mark's Vividness of Visual Imagery Questionnaire, and Rotenberg and Bowers' Absorption scale showed individuals with frequent nightmares to score higher on hypnotizability, vividness of visual imagery, and absorption.
