Student President Committed to Understanding, Honesty
Steinmeyer, Allison Paige
Tribal College Journal of American Indian Higher Education, v21 n2 p34-35 Win 2009
This article presents the author's profile. The author is an enrolled member of the Comanche Tribe and a descendant of the last leader of the Quahada Band. Currently, she attends Comanche Nation College in Lawton, Oklahoma, where she is a junior-level student majoring in both biology and chemistry with a minor in non-romance languages. From 2007-2008, she served as Ms. Comanche Nation College, a wonderful opportunity that opened her eyes to the important differences between tribal colleges and community or state colleges. She also won the Ms. American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC) title for 2008-2009 and the presidency for the AIHEC Student Congress (ASC).
