Geospatial Technologies: Real Projects in Real Classrooms
Kolvoord, Bob
Knowledge Quest, v36 n4 p40-45 Mar-Apr 2008
Geospatial technologies of geographic information systems, global positioning systems, and remote sensing are just a few of the projects that evoke an unexpected drive and devotion from high school students in Virginia. Their integration into different curricular areas lets students focus on understanding their community and the many issues that spatial problem solving lets them address. In this article, the author focuses on examples of what students are doing with these technologies. (Contains 3 figures.)
