Examined data from New Jersey Department of Correction's "Offender Based State Correctional Information System" to obtain descriptive overview of number, offense characteristics, sentences, and lengths of stay of aging inmates in the state's prisons. Profile that emerged was male, aged 57, resident of Rahway State Prison, and convicted of homicide, manslaughter, or sexual assault. (NB)
