Results of multivariate analysis of variance on scores of 30 hearing impaired and 30 nonhandicapped 8- to 14-year-olds on the "Matson Evaluation of Social Skills with Youngsters" suggested that hearing impaired Ss were compliant, displayed appropriate affect, and followed rules. However, their positive responses were not as assertive as those of nonhandicapped children. (Author/CL)
