In this article, the author shares what she learned when she helped create a new home page for PBS Kids. She learned that kids use Web sites very differently than adults do. She also learned that kids are very attracted to icons and pictures, and are more willing to try out new buttons and make mistakes than grown-ups. They are much less patient when they have to wait for content to download or can not quickly find what they are looking for. In addition, the author provides five guidelines that she found helpful when she helped create content for kids.
