What Is the Future of Electronic Resource Management Systems?
Tijerina, Bonnie; King, Douglas
Journal of Electronic Resources Librarianship, v20 n3 p147-155 2008
In a time of constant change, sometimes it is worthwhile to ruminate on the future and how things ought to be. "Journal of Electronic Resources Librarianship" wanted to capture some of these ruminations from around the field in a new column called "E-Opinions from the Field" where readers are asked to send in their thoughts on a topic and respond to others' opinions. The inaugural question is, "What is the future of Electronic Resource Management Systems?" This article presents five thoughtful responses that raise a number of points, but all express an optimistic desire for a future system that really works. (Contains 6 notes.)
