Techniques are provided for the improvement of tests by empirical trial and subsequent analysis. Methods of estimating test reliability are discussed together with an examination of test validity. The final chapter discusses scaling of marks and implications for composite scores. The first appendix provides tables of squares and square roots, and tables for estimating standard error of measurement.
