Uses the concept of parental perspective to explain relationships between social class and parental childrearing behaviors. Results, based on 237 mothers and fathers, indicate that parental perspective taking plays a mediating role between social classes and parental behavior. Furthermore, value orientations and childrearing behaviors appeared dependent on parental perspective taking. (RJM)
