This teacher's guide contains nine units of instruction for a course on computer-assisted pipe drafting. The course covers the following topics: introduction to pipe drafting with CAD (computer-assisted design); flow diagrams; pipe and pipe components; valves; piping plans and elevations; isometrics; equipment fabrication drawings; piping design fundamentals; and plot plans and equipment layout. Each of the instructional units, which are keyed to similar student units of study, includes some or all of the following basic components of a unit of instruction: objective sheet, suggested activities for the teacher, answers to assignment sheets and written test, written test, unit evaluation form, teacher supplements, transparency masters, information sheets, assignment sheets, student supplements, and job sheets. All of the unit components focus on measurable and observable learning outcomes; they are designed for use in more than one lesson or class period of instruction. In addition to the units of study, the teacher's edition contains instruction for using the publication; a competency profile; an instructional and task analysis, a list of related academic and workplace skills; a tools, and an equipment and materials list.
