A central source of information on the key organizations concerned with energy in the United States has been compiled. Chapter 2 covers organizations involved with broad questions of energy policy; Chapters 2-6 describe organizations having to do with sources of energy: oil, natural gas, coal, water power, nuclear fission, and alternate sources; Chapter 7 deals with the electric utility industry; Chapters 8-10 cover the interrelated issues of energy conservation, environmental quality, and consumer protection. Emphasis is placed on organizations that influence, formulate or administer policies affecting energy production, distribution, and use, or that provide information of interest to the nonspecialist. Informative data for each agency or organization includes: (1) location; (2) names of administrative officers; (3) date of creation; and (4) publications available. (Author/KKC)
