Receptive and Expressive Language Skills in Children with Cri-du-Chat Syndrome.
Cornish, K. M.; Munir, F.
Journal of Communication Disorders, v31 n1 p73-81 Jan-Feb 1998
Receptive and expressive language skills were assessed in 13 British children (ages 4-14) with cri-du-chat syndrome. Results found a discrepancy between the children's chronological ages and their presumed language ages and a receptive-expressive discrepancy, with reduced expressive skills compared to receptive skills. Remediation that focuses on receptive skills is urged. (Author/CR)
