The Shaping of Modern Hawaiian History: Databook and Atlas; Teacher Answer Book.
Tamura, Eileen; And Others
This book is intended for use as a supplement to a five-unit instructional series, "The Shaping of Modern Hawaiian History." It presents information on land use, population and ethnic diversity, government, politics, the economy, and Hawaii's place in the Pacific. Provided are many graphs, tables, readings, documents, and maps, which include outline maps of the islands, as well as maps showing land use districts, land ownership, major elevations, coastal zone management areas, and the Pacific basin. Four history outlines (on land use, government, the economy, and social history) are included for use as an introduction to or review of events and trends in Hawaiian history. Ideas for classroom activities are presented, along with quizzes and worksheets. Also provided is the Teacher Answer Book, which supplies the answers to the quizzes and worksheets contained in the main document. (KH)
