Will School Finance Reform Improve Education for Disadvantaged Children? Research Issues.
Murnane, Richard J.
Educational Policy, v8 n4 p535-42 Dec 1994
The third part of William Clune's proposed strategy for reforming the states' role in supporting elementary and secondary education is the development of performance-oriented policies that focus resources on improving student achievement. This article discusses questions central to designing such policies, highlighting three areas: curricular goals, assessment strategies, professional development for teachers, and treatment of learning-disabled students. Research seems promising. (MLH)
