Vocal Reaction Times of Stuttering Subjects to Tachistoscopically Presented Concrete and Abstract Words: A Closer Look at Cerebral Dominance and Language Processing.
Rastatter, Michael P.; Dell, Carl
Journal of Speech and Hearing Research, v30 n3 p306-10 Sep 1987
The study investigated cerebral organization for visual language processing with 14 adult stutterers. Results showed the right hemisphere was superior for analyzing the concrete words while the left hemisphere was responsible for processing the abstract items suggesting some form of linguistic competition between the two hemispheres of this population.
