Chaos, Complexity, and Earning Community: What Do They Mean for Education?
Pouravood, Roland C.
School Community Journal, v7 n2 p57-64 Fall-Win 1997
Ponders possible explanations for the connections among chaos, complexity, and a learning community. Challenges the Newtonian world model, suggests that the world operates in a complex, nonlinear, unpredictable pattern, and calls for a new science to understand this complexity. A true learning community values individual autonomy, risk taking, ownership, and belonging. The autonomous changes occurring within individuals is a learning community's essence.
