There has been a growing body of literature confirming the South and East-ward trajectory of Christianity in recent years, but what does such a shift have to do with the REA, and Religious Education in particular, as it embarks on the second century of its existence? The author of this paper takes a look back at the spirit behind the founding of the Association and how that spirit has subsequently been manifested in the Association since, and as juxtaposed to, the shifting center of the Christendom in the present and onward.
