Listed are visiting scholars from abroad who have been awarded grants under the provisions of the Fulbright-Hays Act for university lecturing and advanced research in the United States. Approximately 650 senior scholars from 67 countries are sponsored under the act, and all those whose grants were awarded or extended prior to September 15, 1977. Although most of the visitors have single institutional affiliations during their grants, many have broad academic interests and would welcome opportunities to visit other colleges and universities to become acquainted with higher education in the U.S. and to meet and exchange ideas with American colleagues.
