Derivative Bibliographic Relationships: The Work Relationship in a Global Bibliographic Database.
Smiraglia, Richard P.; Leazer, Gregory H.
Journal of the American Society for Information Science, v50 n6 p493-504 May 1 1999
Examines bibliographic relationships within the context of a global bibliographic database. Results of this research indicate that a core of works of similar character constitute the bibliographic population of American academic and research libraries (OCLC, Online Computer Library Center members). The size of a bibliographic family seems to be related to its popularity or its canonicity. (AEF)
