Escaping to Technology-based Distributed Faculty Development: A Case for Reforming Professional Development in a Knowledge Organization.
MacPherson, Reynold J. S.
International Journal of Leadership in Education, v3 n3 p275-91 Jul-Sep 2000
Educators should jettison organization-theory definitions of technology as "neutral." Technology helps steer institutions' organizational assumptions, and should be co-opted to educational ends. Outlining specific strategies, a case study suggests how a professional-development unit might provide leadership in a "knowledge organization" (a New Zealand university). (Contains 33 references.)
