The Role of Breakfast in the American Family Diet by Income Group.
Bowman, Shanthy A.
Journal of Early Education and Family Review, v5 n5 p25-28 May-Jun 1998
Examined data from Continuing Survey of Food Intakes by Individuals (USDA) concerning breakfast consumption in families and the kinds of food chosen. Found that 85% of families reported having breakfast; most of those reporting no breakfast came from lowest income group. Consumption of cereals, fruits and juices increased with income; consumption of eggs and breakfast meat products decreased. (HTH)
