The financial returns of an investment in higher education to become a teacher are computed and compared for male and female elementary, secondary, and higher education faculty with and without graduate education for the years 1962, 1966, 1970, 1973, 1976, and 1979. The general decline in return on the educational investment is discussed. (MSE)
