This is the fourth annual publication of profiles of Alaska's public school districts as directed by the State Legislature. The profile format for the 54 school districts and the state total summary is a 2-page display of data grouped into the following 6 subject headings: (1) background; (2) operating revenues and expenditures; (3) funding community survey; (4) student characteristics; (5) staff ratios and statistics; and (6) staff and student demographics. Sections of the profile are enlarged and annotated to help the reader understand them. State figures indicate that statewide expenditures in Alaska total $839,974,371. The average daily student membership of 115,640.8 is served by a total instructional staff of 8,764.9. The state totals and 54 district profiles are presented in tabular form. (SLD)
