This self-paced workbook is used for the orientation of new staff members at the University of Delaware Library to DELCAT technical services. DELCAT, based on NOTIS Systems, Inc., software, is the name of the University of Delaware Library's integrated library system. The orientation programs to DELCAT are of two types: programs that teach basic system competencies, and programs focusing on general automation and systems topics. This manual guides staff through the MARC record and its relationship to DELCAT; the DELCAT records structure; and the DELCAT search keys and commands. Additionally, much of the experience includes hands-on online sessions. Appendices include a glossary of terms and examples of DELCAT records that are relevant to the staff member's job.
