Personnel Development for Persons Having an Impact on Vocational Education. Final Report.
Suffet, Eileen
A project was conducted at Manor Junior College, Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, to design and implement a development conference for all faculty and staff who have a direct impact on vocational students. Emphasis was placed upon improving the quality of instruction, updating teacher competence, and introducing learning mechanisms for improving program relevance and quality. The conference was held March 2-3, 1988, in Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania. A series of 18 different workshops and seminars addressing the needs of those faculty and staff who serve vocational education students and programs was presented. A series of follow-up workshops on evaluating the retention programs at the college was presented during May and June 1988. Feedback from the majority of the 68 persons who attended the conference was positive, although some participants recommended increased depth in future conferences. (A workshop schedule is included in this report.) (KC)
