Projections of the Population of the United States, by Age, Sex, and Race: 1983 to 2080.
Spencer, Gregory
Current Population Reports, Series P-25 n952 May 1984
Based on assumptions about fertility, mortality, and net immigration trends, statistical tables depict the future U.S. population by age, sex, and race. Figures are based on the July 1, 1982, population estimates and race definitions and are projected using the cohort-component method with alternative assumptions for future fertility, mortality, and net immigration levels. The combination of all the assumptions portrays a future American population that will grow relatively slowly, if at all. The birth rate will change but little, while the death rate will increase. The population is likely to be much older and contain more minority members. The major portion of the report consists of detailed tables. (RM)
