Colorado Migrant Education Program. 1981-82 Evaluation Report.
Boynton, Mary
The evaluation report describes the state program activities, the 16 regular year and 14 summer programs, and the 3 support services provided for migrant children throughout the state in 1981-82. An introduction presents a brief program description, the report's purpose and format, the approach to evaluation in 1981-1982, the national goals for migrant education, and the 1981-1982 state objectives. Next, the state-level activities and accomplishments and ratings of the contracted support service agencies are documented. Following a general description of the local programs is information on the volunteer involvement, staff development, and parental involvement activities; coordination and dissemination efforts; student test outcomes in reading and math; and exceptional approaches, techniques, and practices employed by local education agencies (LEA's). An analysis of the special effort toward professional development conducted during the regular year is included. The efforts made in the area of secondary education and credit exchange during summer 1982 are reviewed. The next section outlines the conclusions and recommendations drawn from resource center staff, state migrant unit staff, project directors, and LEA cadre for professional development members. Appendices include the excerpted evaluation reports of the resource center, the Colorado Migrant Health Program, and the Migrant Student Transfer System. (NQA)
