Compiled to serve as a working tool for those involved in optical storage research, planning, and development, this bibliography contains nearly 700 references related to the optical storage and retrieval of digital computer data. Citations are divided into two major groups covering the general and patent literatures. Each citation includes the author name, document title, source, publication, and number of references. Also provided is an annotated media bibliography containing citations which are in the general literature bibliography but which are in this case accompanied by brief descriptions of the document's major content and results. These citations include many of the references in the critical area of optical recording media and playback of optical digital data disks. Six general indexes allow access by author, corporate author, title, patent number, inventor, and patent assignee, and a classification index is also provided. (Author/LMM)
