Instructional Systems Development Model for Interactive Videodisc. Final Report.
Campbell, J. Olin; And Others
This third and final report on a 3-year project, which developed authoring and production procedures for interactive videodisc based on the Interservice Procedures for Instructional Systems Development (IPISD), reviews the current state of the art, provides an overview of the project, and describes two videodiscs made for the project and the lessons learned from them. In describing the "Call for Fire" program, the discussion covers packing procedures for including both training and testing on one disc and the main components of the disc: training extension course (TEC) lessons, skill qualification tests, videotape productions, simulation and games, an executive review, an authoring guide, and voice and keypad inputs. Discussion of the RT 524 Alignment Simulation program includes training army personnel in videodisc design, delivery system hardware, the authoring system, and evaluation results. Each block of the IPISD--analyze, design, develop instruction, implement, and control--is described in terms of the new opportunities and requirements of interactive videodisc. Thirteen references and four videodisc-related periodicals are listed. (Author/LMM)
