West Clay Preschool Curriculum. ESEA Title IV-C Project.

The curriculum outlines objectives, materials, and activities for preschoolers with speech/language delay. The curriculum is intended for classroom use within a normal instructional schedule. The curriculum emphasizes building of receptive and expressive language. Activities address such developmental skills as socialization, family living, community helpers, community awareness, body care, color recognition, sensory experiences, shape recognition, listening skills, awareness of the environment, animal recognition, vocabulary skills, multimedia-multisensory activities, and holidays. Examples of the worksheets and illustrations are presented throughout. The curriculum is intended to reduce the disadvantage faced by children with delayed language skills. (CL)
