This volume is intended to help speakers of the Hmong language express their health problems to English-speaking medical personnel and social workers, and to help those English speakers understand them. In addition to the introduction, the book contains chapters dealing with the following: (1) a discussion of the language itself, with examples; (2) useful phrases for carrying on any elementary conversation; (3) phrases for the medical interview; (4) phrases used in medical examinations; (5) phrases especially useful to women; (6) word lists arranged according to topic; and (7) English-Hmong anatomy diagrams.
